Your privacy matters. This policy explains how MobileDB ("the app") handles your information. In short: the app does not collect any personal data and there is no backend server. The only time information leaves your device is when you connect to your own database servers, or when you choose to enable the optional AI assistant described below.
The app does not collect your name, email, location, contacts, usage analytics, or advertising identifiers. There are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Connection details (host, port, database, username, and options) are stored locally on your device. Passwords and SSH private keys are stored in the iOS Keychain. None of this is ever transmitted to the developer or any third party.
MobileDB connects directly from your device to the database servers and SSH hosts that you configure. Your queries, results, and any data you view or edit travel only between your device and your own servers. The developer operates no servers and never sees this traffic. Connections use TLS and/or an SSH tunnel as you configure them.
MobileDB includes an optional "Ask AI" feature that is off until you set it up. To use it you provide your own API key for an AI provider you choose (for example OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint). Your API key is stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device.
When you ask the assistant a question, the app sends — directly from your device to the provider you configured — your database structure only (table and column names, data types, and relationships), your question, and the current conversation. This gives the model the context it needs to write SQL.
The app does not send your row data, query results, passwords, or connection secrets to the AI provider. Before the assistant makes its first request, the app shows a disclosure you must accept. Your use of a provider is subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy, and any usage is billed to your own account. The developer operates no AI servers and never sees this traffic.
Saved connections, query history, and saved queries are stored locally on your device only. Deleting the app removes this data.
The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
